April is School Library Media Month!
The Governor has signed a Certificate of Recognition, available in pdf format. Have it signed by your principal or superintendent and publicize the signing in the local newspaper. Distribute it as a flyer to your faculty. Post it around your school. Celebrate school libraries! Advocacy Begins With You!

The Community Idea Stations (WCVE Richmond PBS / WHTJ Charlottesville PBS) operate the largest instructional telecommunications services (ITS) network in Virginia. They provide educational services, support and resources for early childcare programs and 44 public school divisions (serving nearly 450 schools) in central Virginia. Their Educational Services department provides educational outreach and training for early childcare programs, K-12 technology and SOL training and conferences, curriculum-oriented instructional programs, and other resources to assist parents and teachers in preparing children to excel academically. Custom-designed staff development workshops are available for school administrators, ITRTs, teachers, and library media specialists.
