History


VEMA was founded in 1975 as a consolidation of VAECT and VEA-SLD. Its purpose is the improvement of learning in Virginia through effective and efficient use of instructional media and technology. VEMA is the state affiliate of two major national associations - the Association for Educational Communications and Technology and the American Association of School Librarians. Membership provides support, opportunities for professional development, connections to other organizations, and leadership opportunities.
